A Few Links

I want to try, on occasion, to post helpful links and calls for submissions. I don't know how this is going to work out exactly as I don't have my eye on as many things as I should but, here we go.

Links you need:

1. Duotrope Digest (http://www.duotrope.com)
A database of online and print markets for your work. It seems to have varied listings so don't think you're getting just one thing here. Their search function is very helpful but remember to do your research before submitting; there is no shortcut to publication.

2. New Pages (http://www.newpages.com)
News, information and guides to independent bookstores, independent publishers, literary magazines, alternative periodicals, independent record labels, alternative newsweeklies and more. **Description from website** Some writers swear by this website so at least give it a look.

Call for Submissions:

Verse Wisconsin (http://versewisconsin.org/submissions.html)-Has both a print and online version. It tends to take mainly poetry but it also interested in book reviews and the occasional article or opinion piece. You don't have to live in Wisconsin to submit but the editors enjoy learning about connections, however tentative, to the state.
