Emerging from My Cave

Hello!  I have missed you, dear ones.  I should be back to a "decent" blogging schedule soon.
How was everyone's holiday of choice?

My husband and I went to my family's for Christmas and spent the week.  It was great, for the most part.  Santa gave me some good "writerly" gifts but left a sprained wrist for me, too (my fault, I shouldn't have opened it).
The gifts I received included:  Socks, a flash-drive, a digital voice recorder, and earrings.

What did you guys get?

My first rejection of the year comes from Contrary Magazine with AGNI being a close second.  Last month, I received two acceptances in a row for magazines in the Sam's Dot Publishing line.  Perhaps something is telling me I am NOT a literary writer/poet, just a speculative/genre one.  **Sighs**
Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled with the acceptances but, honestly, I was hoping I could write efficiently in both literary and genre types.  Oh well.

I will be posting more poems in the future as regular posts because my archive is getting impossible to manage.  I have no clue as to what I'm doing with it yet (please let me know if you have ideas).

  1. Sounds like it was a good Christmas! It's hard to get back in the swing of things, but I'm having fun seeing everyone return to the blogosphere. :)

    1. Yeah, I'm having a harder time with it, too. But I am also playing catch-up to my writing and whatnot. It is good to see you back!

  2. I've never used a voice recorder. Do you like it?

    1. I love the one I have. It has a lot of different features and seems pretty sturdy (I've already dropped it, thankfully on carpet). I suggest finding one that can transfer to your computer and that has both WMA file and MP3 file capability.

  3. Happy new year, Jennifer! And big congrats to your acceptances! That's great! Publication is publication and still credits you as an author.
Christmas for us is all about the kids so Hubby and I don't really do gifts for each other, but I did get some satin PJs and pretty hardback journals. :D

    1. Every time I get hardback journals, I feel the need to start keeping a diary because nothing I write (fiction/poetry) feels special enough for anything other than a notebook. I guess I'd better get over that if I want to make it as a writer! lol
